Hawai‘i Congresswoman Hanabusa Speaks on the State of US-Korea Alliance

Hawai‘i congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa spoke about the United States-Republic of South Korea alliance at an East-West Center event in December 2013, to commemorate the launch of Korea Matters for America/America Matters for Korea, the latest in the Asia Matters for America booklet series. The publication coincided with the 60th anniversary of the US-ROK alliance, the strength of which the congresswoman highlighted in her address. In addition to looking at successes in US-Korea relations, Congresswoman Hanabusa, who sits on the House Armed Services Committee, touched on military and security aspects of the alliance. She concluded her remarks by emphasizing the need for having shared goals that emphasize peace and prosperity for the future of the Asia-Pacific.
