Hyundai USA Offers Program Benefitting Federal Employees

Korea

Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai’s US division has announced that it will defer all payments due on car loans and leases for federal employees furloughed under the current government shutdown. They will also defer all payments until January for any federal employee who buys or leases a Hyundai car in the month of October. The Korean car maker has a history of similar generosity, as it also allowed people who lost their jobs in the global financial crisis to temporarily postpone making payments. The current offer to federal employees applies to all who financed their purchase through Hyundai Finance America, the company’s internal financing division. A representative from Hyundai estimated that roughly 5,000 to 10,000 federal employees who own or lease Hyundai cars will benefit from this move.
